Medieval Craftworks primarily used rings and scales made out of anodized aluminium for the core construction, although other options exists (Gold / Silver / Plastic / Steal / Titanium). In addition, various outfits are sometimes built upon existing garments which can be made of a variety of material. For question about specific pieces, please ask.
The typical armor peices are made of annodized alluminium and although would protect you from a slash of a sword easily enough, repeated strikes would inevitably cause the rings to break open and the outfit to break apart. For true fighting use, one should opt for steal rings/scales and each ring welded as well. This makes the outfit heavier and costlier.
